Yesterday Grandpa (aka my Daddy!), the kids and I went to explore the Valley of Fires Recreational Area just a few miles out of town. Mozo was so exhausted from his first plane ride he stayed behind and took a day off. Lazy coyote!
What is the Valley of Fires? Basically it's an area of old lava flows, also called the Malpais. Rustic, rugged, dry, harsh, and 'liquidy' (my word! think it would play in 'Scrabble'?!). To learn more about this amazing area, click here:
