We've been home a few days and are so very thankful to be here!! Our grand Zozo-venture was absolutely magnificent in so very many ways! Truly we are blessed beyond measure to have had such an opportunity! And grateful to my folks who gifted us such a treasure in memory of our much beloved (Great) Grandma Sapp. She would've loved it! No doubt she was with us, and (Great) Grandpa Sapp, in our thoughts, spirits and experiences. For many years to come we will fondly remember and reminisce about our journey.
Being gone for 5 weeks presents many fun things about returning home! Fun might be a bit of an exaggeration! There's cleaning, laundry, dusting, grocery shopping...the list almost seems endless! The biggest adjustment is the time change! It only took a couple days for us to adjust to Mountain Time. But the trip back East is a whole lot harder to become reacquainted with! Time is such a peculiar thing!
The kitties are pretty happy we are home. You know they won't admit it (because they are CATS!) but they prefer us to be home on our 'regular' schedules! Snoopy, our 5 month old puppy, however, is thrilled to be back home and happy to let us love on him 24/7! I've always been a cat person, and probably always will be, but I am continually amused with the amount of love that Snoopy both gives to us and absorbs from us! He is huge (gained 6 pounds while we were gone!) but thinks he is just a tiny puppy! To be held in our arms 'like a baby' is one of his most favorite places in all the world! Too stinkin' cute!!!
The reality of being back home is sweet. Even with all the catch up work! It is said the only constant in life is change. Our world is changing in a pretty big yet exciting way starting tomorrow. I am starting my new part-time job. I will be working at our church as our Music Minister's Assistant. (Secretary, Associate, whatever the proper title might be) This is such an exciting thing to me! How very blessed to be there!
For the 2 weeks before school starts our kids will be spending a bit of time home alone. Part of me doesn't want to admit that they are even old enough to do such a thing! But reality says they are. Technology is making this transition a bit easier with webcams and texting, too!! Glory!
God has blessed us in more ways than there are words to express. May I never forget to give HIM the credit and praise! And may we as a family always do our best to praise Him in all we say and do!
No doubt about it. Life is sweet.
