Wednesday afternoon was full of board games and cleaning up the yard. The grass in the desert hardly grows due to lack of rain. Mom affectionately calls her tiny bit of green in the back yard 'grass bumps'. They must be watered daily to keep them green. The front yard is all rocks and bricks. No extra water required. And because the grass hardly grows, and it's such a small amount, they edge the grass not with a weed wacker, but a pair of scissors. Yep, by hand! So Mom and I took turns with the scissors trimming around the rocks and flowers. Did I mention it was HOT yesterday?! Not humid, but that sunshine was HOT. We waited until much later in the afternoon to finish.

My camera was a generous gift from my hubby for Christmas. Dad happens to have the same one and I've not mastered the art of taking super close-up pictures. (AKA macro) The walking stick (bug) we had photographed earlier in the morning was still out in the yard so we decided to practice the macro setting on him. FUN!!
The kids found the wheel barrel and Maegan and Aaron had a blast with it! Madison decided it wasn't for her, so she just kinda watched and tried to direct. Who needs all these fancy, plastic, electronic gizmos and gadgets when ya have a wheel barrel?! Then they got out some tennis balls and began playing games with them. Grandma and Grandpa had an old board with 3 holes in it that was once used in a fair that the kids had a blast trying to hit! They played til the sun went down in yet another spectacular sunset.
In this last picture Aaron and Maegan were laughing so hard Aaron could hardly stand up!!
Dad and I went for a walk when it was about down thru town and it was so beautiful and COOL! I am still amazed how cool it gets when the sun sets!! It's heavenly!!!! On our walk we were treated with a great lighting show in the distance over the Carizo's. (Mountains)
This afternoon the kids and I are heading up to ABQ to spend the night with Scott and Amy!!! Quick trip, but we are so very excited! Friday about lunch time we will go to the airport to welcome Mark, Amy, Abby, Ben, Matt and Butch!!!!!! Then we'll caravan back to Zozo! We are so excited we can't hardly stand it!
